Fourteen years ago I moved to Listowel from Kitchener. Now I’m running for town council as a way to show that I am committed to being a part of this community and helping it continue to succeed and grow.
I was looking for ways to give back and to get more involved locally. I wanted to do something where I could use my skills and interests best and that is how I ended up serving on the Committee of Adjustment and the Property Standard Committee for North Perth.
I’ve spent the last 25+ years working in industrial, commercial and institutional construction and I’m a senior estimator for the specialty contracts division of a large RICI contracting firm.
I have always had an interest in politics, history and sociology so by running for council I hope to be able to put my knowledge and skills to good use. I plan to focus on addressing issues such as infrastructure, sustainable growth and social support services within the community.
In my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle with my trusted canine companion through the streets of Listowel. I host a weekly online music group for seniors or those who are socially isolated and I published my first book two years ago.
I would love to hear from you, what you like about North Perth and what you feel needs to be addressed. What you think should stay the same and what needs improving. I will do my best to be available and to help whenever and however I can.
